The Wolheter Family
James and Jenny Wolheter have served in Bolivia with Evangelical Church Missions since the fall of 2003. James and Jenny's ministry in Bolivia includes theological training of pastors, leadership development in local churches and supervisory activities. Jenny performs office duties and assists James in developing relationships with young pastors and providing them with guidance. They have opened their home on many occasions to entertain neighbors and friends. Their contagious hospitality has touched many lives. James has worked closely with church leaders in theological and ministry training and relates well with youth, often participating in their events.
James and Jenny Wolheter are members of the Ligonier Evangelical Church in Indiana. The Wolheters have three children: Coy, Cy and Cade.
Aaron was raised in Minnesota where his parents served pastorates with the North Central Conference of The Evangelical Church. While attending Vennard College, he sensed God leading him into ministry. A six-month college internship with Evangelical Church Missions in Brazil confirmed this calling to cross-cultural mission work.
Cristiana was raised in Brazil and was instrumental in establishing the Brazilian work of Evangelical Church Missions. She is a charter member of the Vida em Cristo (Life in Christ) Church in Cubatão, Brazil and has demonstrated gifts of leadership and service.
The lives of Aaron and Cristiana came together in 2002 while Aaron was serving a short-term assignment in Brazil. Upon completion of the short-term assignment Cristiana joined him at Vennard College in Iowa and they were married in 2003. Aaron and Cristiana were granted career missioanry status with Evangelical Church Missions in March 2004. They arrived in Brazil in June 2006 and have 3 children, Nicolas, Jonas and Marcos.
